Life is Harder Today , say Experts

clipped from www.msnbc.msn.com

Life is harder now, some experts say

Generation gap: After paying the bills, middle-class pockets are emptier

So what's the problem? Why do so many middle class Americans with so much stuff say they feel so squeezed? If they are dogged by debt, isn’t it their own fault?

Bankruptcy law expert and Harvard University Professor Elizabeth Warren spent a lot of time crunching consumer spending numbers for her popular books, "The Fragile Middle Class,” and “The Two-Income Trap.” In both, she makes this point: Despite all those $200 sneakers you hear about and the long lines at Starbucks, consumers are actually spending less of their income — much less — on discretionary items like clothing, entertainment and food than their parents did. In fact, after taking care of essentials like housing and health care, today’s middle class has about half as much spending money as their parents did in the early 1970s, Warren says.

NFL: Great Patriots Video

It's football season and it's amazing how sports weave themselves into politics of it's own. Most of us enjoy the 'escapism' aspect of football more than anything. I hope you enjoy this video since this is a quickly exploding medium used by the masses to capture the imagination.

I will be creating some videos of my own as well as obtaining rights to some where possible. Did you know successful movies such as Borat got their start on You Tube?

How would we Benefit from Ron Paul presidency

Some people (i.e. followers of Kucinich) claim that Ron Paul won’t reduce military spending in their long rants about how a Ron Paul presidency would destroy us all, because what we really need is just more government to save us all.

This is just flat out wrong, we have been getting more and more government for the last 70+ years, and our students are getting more ignorant (see article here) and Americans are getting less healthy. Ron Paul has said he would shrink the military industrial complex (article in SFGate.com) and eliminate the war on drugs. Without these drains on the productivity of America, we would have more funds to be able to make positive choices for ourselves, our families, and yes even the children.

It’s a sad fact that the children are used to control the present and future, and that they are being ill used by the current “education” system.
Until you acknowledge that the factual contents of your mind upon which you base decisions have been inserted there by others whose motives you cannot fully understand, you will never come to appreciate the neglected genius of Western spirituality which teaches that you are the center of the universe. And that the most important things worth knowing are innate in you already. They cannot be learned through schooling. They are self-taught through the burdens of having to work, having to sort out right from wrong, having to check your appetites, and having to age and die.

Until you acknowledge that the factual contents of your mind upon which you base decisions have been inserted there by others whose motives you cannot fully understand

I'm repeating the above quote for emphasis because it is so good and true. It is clear to me that everything that Ron Paul stands for is moving away from control by the now present Orwellian 'big brother'. It is so ingrained in our culture; politics and government, legislators and corporations that we need a radical break from the "we don't do it that way here" thinking. Dr. Paul stands out as the only anti-war candidate of the other top 5 GOP candidates. The GOP needs a dramatic break from the Gingrich-Bush era GOP of corruption and waste. With Clinton (CFR member) the front runner from the Democrats, Paul will emerge from the GOP as the only candidate that can defeat her. Ron Paul will be a force for good for many years to come and is the only hope to free this nation and possibly the world from the neo conservative (not conservative; a misnomer)controlled media and government.

Physician, Heal Thyself (Not Ron Paul)

Mind/Body Healing

As with any illness or disorder of the body, full healing can only be effected when the emotional and mental components are also addressed. Anger, fear and anxiety are emotions that are typically stored and expressed in the gut. This is clearly evidenced in our language - how often have you heard expressions like, 'his guts were churning with anxiety', or, 'the bile rose in her throat whenever she thought about what he'd done', or, 'her stomach clenched in fear'. In fact, what do people do when faced with extreme violence or fear? They often urinate or defecate uncontrollably.

Any bodywork therapies that utilize somato-emotional release will be very healing to people with IBS. Somato(body)-emotional release is based on the premise that emotional trauma is actually stored in the physical tissues of the body - not just in the mind or soul. When you release the event, or memory, or feeling at this level, the catharsis is particularly effective and healing. Therapies like craniosacral, acupuncture, reiki and other forms of energy healing can all facilitate somato-emotional release. It's best to look for a therapist that specifically lists somato-emotional release as part of their practice. Choose your practitioner the same way you'd choose a counselor, make sure it's someone with legitimate qualifications that you feel comfortable and safe with.

I once went to a craniosacral therapist who specialized in somato-emotional release. We started first with my neck and he began by just holding it as I lay on my back (fully clothed). Then, as I relaxed, he slowly began to rotate my head gently to the left and up a bit. Much to my surprise, I immediately experienced a technicolor memory of being beaten as a child. Even more surprising, I re-experienced the fear and anger I had felt then and tears began streaming down my face. When he sensed the emotion was getting a bit much for me, he gently moved my head back to its former position and the memory, the feelings, and the tears disappeared instantly! I was back to the jolly self I walked in there as. I lay there laughing over how bizarre that was and wiped the tears away. He waited for me to relax again and then moved my head back to the same position and immediately I was back in the memory crying away again. He continued this process until I had worked through the memory and released it. Then he moved on to work with other parts of my body.

A friend of mine would experience visions and feel as though she left her body during certain acupuncture sessions. Another friend re-experienced and released a memory of childhood sexual abuse when the craniosacral therapist began working on her arm. You wouldn't think a sexual abuse memory would be stored in someone's arm, but the memory began with her being forcefully grabbed at the elbow and marched up the stairs, so that's where her body stored it. Another woman I know feels distinctly linked with her inner child whenever her energy healer works on her colon. She cries throughout the session and sometimes for a while afterwards, but for the next few days experiences no symptoms of bowel distress whatsoever. Going beyond the psychological, talk-therapy approach and into the body itself can be a very profound and deeply healing experience. Meditation, in whichever form you prefer, is also beneficial. Different people have different ways of meditating and you don't have to sympathize with Eastern philosophies to be able to meditate. Many people feel a walk through the woods, or along the beach, communing with nature soothes their soul and quiets their mind. If you're a Christian, the next time you're praying, stop talking to God/Jesus and just listen. Spend 15 minutes or so simply being open and let God speak to you. Don't worry if you don't hear/feel/sense anything right away, be persistent and it will come.
http://www.healingwell.com/library/ibs/article.asp?author=thompson&id=2

The inside of a person often has to be healed before other illnesses can be fixed. Dr. Ron Paul, a respected M.D. is running for President to try and heal the ills of the USA. He is all about healing. His heart and gut is on the right place. I feel it in my 'gut'. Spread the word, he's the only candidate that can save us.

Paris Hilton, Kasey Kahne and Budweiser

These are words and people not normally lumped together. Paris Hilton was on hand while Kasey Kahne . The Nascar website reports: Last week while doing promotions for California Speedway, Kahne and company hit the clubs, Les Duex in Hollywood to be exact. There, Kahne spotted Hilton and a conversation commenced, but the No. 9 Dodge driver denies any romantic involvement, for now.

"She was there, it was cool, I got to talk to her and meet her -- that was it," he said. "We talked for two or three minutes, she said bye and I walked away."

So who noticed who?

"For me I was [at the] right place at the right time," he said. "I mean, Paris is as big as it gets in celebrities ... and I got to talk to her and meet her -- it was cool for me."

Kahne said the two actually talked about racing.

"She was telling me about her racing experience," he said. "She hasn't done any racing but she was going to do a celebrity race."

Initially, the New York Daily News reported Kahne and Hilton, a celebrity heiress and recent jailbird, shared a more intimate moment.

"The two of them chatted for a while," a source told the Daily News," and before they parted ways for the night, she leaned in and whispered 'God, you're cute,' and kissed him!"

Regardless whether a love connection was made or not, the pop culture power behind the encounter puts NASCAR on a different level.

What you say, Paris Hilton told Kasey Kahne , 'God, you're cute' and kissed him. Ha ha. Anyway Budweiser is talking about a marriage between them and K Kahne. As for Paris, she's working on her 'good girl' image. Hanging around Kasey can't hurt, one of the more likable guys on the NASCAR Nextel Cup circuit.

Michael Vick will not get the new endorsement deal from Nike. The multinational shoe giant, rumored to pay their employees less than a dollar an hour in their poor countries can't even stomach the charges of Michael Vick being involved in charges of animal abuse stemming from the alleged dog fighting ring on his property in Virginia.
Rather ironic their icon is not worth the millions in endorsements. I always wore U.S made Converse, or 'Cons' as we called them.

For the number crunchers

$11B in Liquid Assets and Growing

2006Gk1
Google filed a K-1 this week (thanks Gary) and there were a few tidbits in there. If you're a Google geek, it's worth a read.

Google had more than 10,00 employees at the end of 2006, for example, and spent nearly $2B in capex in 06. Advertising is 99% of all revenues for three straight years. The UK is 15% of Google's revenues. The US has declined from 66% to 57% in three years. TAC (traffic acquisition costs) are blended into overall revenues so it's more difficult to figure the TAC percentage as a portion of Adsense, (a bit of other stuff may be in that figure), but if you take TAC as all Adsense related, you come up with $3.3B paid out, on $4.16B in Adsense (Google Network) revenues, or 79%, which is consistent with previous numbers.
The rest of the article you can read here.

Bottom line, Google is a very healthy company. There is plenty of other search engines that will benefit from the continued growth of e commerce. Agloco is one such company. I'd take a flyer on Agloco , as they are offering shares to the users. What was it two years ago that Google offered their I.P.O. at around $300 U.S, per share? Who would of thought that would turn out to be a bargain? Yours truly for one, although I didn't have the capital to invest. Here's your second chance, and mine also. Agloco WILL turn into a rival of Google, driven by the largest pre launch in Internet Marketing history! Don't walk run to sign up for Agloco

The Architect of Windows says...

Microsoft to show search engine

the money

Microsoft Corp. will share a part of its advertising revenues from its search engine with users, the company's chairman Bill Gates said in a panel discussion on an Indian television channel.

Gates said that search engines like Google Inc. get their revenues from advertising because people use these search engines. "Google's business model is not based on free software," Gates said. "Their business model is based on advertisements from which they make a lot of money."

Agloco Update

As of yesterday, I had three sign ups. Ten direct sign ups this early could easily result in a many through duplicate efforts, using technology. Lots of people who have been around the internet marketing community get this. I'm a slow learner with some stuff, but I will tell you most most if not all the big marketers outsource work like design for instance. Even on a smaller level it's a good thing. It is, IMO however good to know some stuff, but tis better if possible to outsource. After all, we can't all be programmers, right?
Web 2.0 is maker all of this fairer and less expensive for the little guy. Thus, enter Agloco
a new search engine company that will share profits with users. Greed is Not a good thing. The users (and content builders) of You Tube made zilch, zippo, while the founders (less than 10?) made 1.6 billion. Agloco, with the backing of The architect of windows himself , Mr. Bill Gates. Yes, users will get paid in shares and money for surfing . They will get paid up to 5 hours per month, plus their whole family and friends network, in a nutshell. With 100 million internet users in the US alone...and this being the largest pre launch ever.

AGLOCO is not “Too Good to be True”

AGLOCO is not “Too Good to be True”

February 21, 2007 at 10:34 pm · Filed under About AGLOCO, Member Tools

I wrote a comment other day that addressed exactly the type of question Members sometimes get in trying to recruit others to AGLOCO, namely: “AGLOCO sounds too good to be true. Why am I getting paid without putting anything into it?” Here is the quote from my previous blog that answers this point:

Asad Khalid said,
“Well i have some concerns about AGLOCO. Though i badly want this to work, but it seems too good to be true. I can also recruit people into joining Agloco as its free. But this is the thing that worries me. Its hard to believe that you’re going to be paid without ‘investing’ or putting something in it.”
——
AGLOCO Official said,
If being “too good” is our only problem, I think we’re in great shape!

Joking aside, seeming “too good to be true” is probably the number one reason people DON’T sign up for AGLOCO. It seems strange to “get something for nothing.” The truth is, you’re not getting something for nothing. You’re giving the Viewbar a small share of your computer monitor, which we (and apparently many advertisers) consider extremely valuable. You are also choosing us as your partner for commissions, referrals, and fees accumulated through everyday browsing. So, instead of some other middleman making this money, AGLOCO makes it. We win, you win, and the advertisers/companies win for getting your business.

Also, if you decide to refer other Members and build the community, you get more because YOU have built the community and provided it with its most valuable resource: more Members. By providing value to AGLOCO, we provide value back to you for your efforts.

So, essentially, AGLOCO doesn’t cost you any money to join, but you are “putting something in it” to reap the returns AGLOCO will provide you. If it’s worth it to share about 3/4-inch of your screen with the Viewbar and possibly to take the time and effort to build our network, you have earned every cent of your AGLOCO payout.

Value Proposition 1: You have Viewbar on screen, we pay you for it.

Having a Viewbar on your screen while you are actively browsing the Internet offers benefits to AGLOCO, advertisers, and Internet companies. The internet advertising industry is booming, as companies are trying many different ways to get their information in front of your eyes. As such, every inch of real estate on your screen is valuable (as demonstrated by the “million dollar homepage” last year). The Viewbar will show a targeted text ad, and advertisers are more than happy to pay AGLOCO for the opportunity to put that in front of you.

Another reason you get paid is because having an active Viewbar on your screen means that you are asking AGLOCO to be your commission partner. Many things you do on the internet make money for middlemen without you realizing it. AGLOCO never requires Members to do any of these things, but activities such as joining communities (such as eBay and MySpace), searching (such as on Yahoo and Google), downloading free software (such as Adobe Acrobat), and making purchases (such as on Orbitz and Amazon.com), will in many cases generate money for a middleman. By having an active Viewbar on your desktop, you designate AGLOCO to be your middleman. This makes AGLOCO money and, in return for that, AGLOCO pays you back. So, in that way, having an active Viewbar on your screen makes you money for doing what you would ordinarily do.

Value Proposition 2: You build the network, we pay you more.

I talk about this a little in a previous post:

Why does AGLOCO use a referral system?
“The most valuable part of AGLOCO is its Members. By referring others to AGLOCO, you provide them with value and for that, AGLOCO thinks you should get some of that value you provide.

It makes sense. Think about YouTube. The first, most active users were on the site when the software was buggy and there were few videos available, but their Membership (and referrals to others) is what made the site a success. When it was sold for $1.65 billion, how much of that did these first users see? Nothing. With the AGLOCO referral system, Members get more for building the network.”

Should you choose to build the network, you are ‘sticking your neck out’ to build the community and make it valuable. You are ‘paying’ with your time and effort, as well as risking your reputation, in convincing the people you know to join AGLOCO. You know that it could fail. If it does, you have spent a lot of time working for nothing in return, and you might look a little silly to the people you referred into the system. Not everyone is willing to take that risk.

However, for those who do take that risk, there will be significant rewards if AGLOCO succeeds...

...from the Agloco company blog
....

If you are still reading this and still believe in your future on the
internet, go sign up at Agloco now. Be a difference maker. This will succeed and I will be a part of it. I bought some business cards, and will be starting a website mainly for this program. I have three blogs now and I have been on the internet marketing scene for almost three years. I will cross promote this with adsense and other publisher programs . I don't have a big list so this will truly be grass roots for me.
Let me say that there are people with over 5000 recruits and more; more power to them. I have two direct recruits and am already in the top 45% ! One Agloco member, has only 80 direct referrals and over 1500 total. Yes the company pays like a 1/4 share infinity wide and four level deep. Bill Gates is behind the concept as well; of paying users for their feedback. The viewbar operates seemlessly in the background; similiar in a way to Google's Adsense publisher's program. Agloco is discussed some more at this site

Feedback
I remember providing feedback way back when the Firefox browser was in true beta, FF .8 and .9 versions. At 2.0 now, this browser has taken over more than 100 million users from Internet Explorer. Different web 2.0 applications such as video sites and social networks are enabling better connectedness . Tagging is hot, and everyone from Delicious to downloader applications etc. are sharing and bookmark by tagging . The internet changes very rapidly, and it's for the better. Head over to Agloco...
catch the wave. This may out to be like buying shares of Ma Bell in the 60's for pennies on the dollar. Then just tell your friends, preferably your college kids who may decide to get a huge list just for shizzle and giggles. You too, bro and sis.

How To Choose A Reliable Web Hosting Company : A Tip For Newbies

How To Choose A Reliable Web Hosting Company : A Tip For Newbies

Reliable web hosting is vital for anyone attempting to earn money with a business website.

Choosing a host for your website is not easy when you are an Internet newbie and don't really know bandwidth from Band-Aid. What selection criteria do you use? If you are a total newbie, about the only thing you will know how to compare is price but if you do a search for web hosting you will have ads coming at you for all prices from $10 per year to $25 per month. Should you go for the most expensive on the basis that you get what you pay for or should you go for the cheapest because saving money is a priority while you are getting your business running?

The first thing to rule out is free web hosting. There are many great free resources to be found on the Internet including excellent anti-virus and anti-spy ware software. Free hosting is fine if you have a hobby website but, if you are running a business online and wish to achieve credibility with visitors and search engines, free web hosting won't do the job.

I discovered the hard way that cheap web hosting is not necessarily the bargain it might seem. When I started looking for hosting for a new website, I already had top class hosting that had come with my first website. There was an option to add on further domains for an extra $5 per month. That was cheap enough but I thought it would be a good idea to have my new website hosted completely separately (you know, the old eggs in one basket caution).

When I started checking around, there seemed to be millions of web hosts all offering what (to my untrained eye) seemed to be the same thing but at wildly varying prices, so I settled on a cheap hosting package. The cost was £1 per month (which was about $1.70 in those days) and I certainly got what I paid for!

At first everything was fine: I paid up, they hosted my website. The trouble is, you don't realize you have bought rubbish hosting until things start to go wrong.

The first sign that all was not well came a few months later when I was unable to locate my website. I raised a support ticket and waited. Four days later came the reply "everything seems ok now". Four days of downtime without a sensible word from support made me feel more than a little uneasy.

Things seemed fine for a while after that but then another problem arose: when I tried to log into my control panel all I got was a message telling me the license fee had not been paid. This time the reply to my support ticket was quicker, it only took two days. Unfortunately, however, it was completely unhelpful. The reply was "It seems to be a site-wide issue". Was I supposed to feel better because the whole site was messed up and not just my bit? They must have got round to paying the license fee because after a few more days, login was available again.

After that, I wanted to move to a new host but I had never moved a website before and assumed it would be really difficult and technically challenging (actually it is extremely simple). As a result of this fear my website remained where it was.

The crunch came when my domain name came up for renewal. In response to an email from the hosting company, I visited their website to make the required payment. Their PayPal link and credit card options did not work and there were several error messages showing on the pages I visited.

Emails to their support and billing departments went unanswered. My only means of arranging payment was via their website, so I kept trying. Each time I visited, there were more error messages, nothing worked and it began to look as if the site was actually melting bit by bit. It seemed the company had just packed up and left their website to self destruct.

Enquiries revealed that the only way I could renew my domain name ownership was through the hosting company because they had registered it on my behalf and they retained control of it. As they could not be contacted, there were only two options available. The first was to pay an agent a pretty hefty (and non-refundable) fee to try to contact the hosting company and negotiate the purchase the domain name from them. The second option was to lose the domain.

When you have to choose web hosting, the first thing to look for is quality of support. To keep prices low, the easiest way for the company to economize is to provide sub-standard support. Forget the offers of unlimited bandwidth, hundreds of email accounts, spam filters and other freebies. If support is non-existent, give the company a miss no matter how good their other terms might seem.

How Google Video Search Engine can Solve 2 Major Website Owner's Problems

How Google Video Search Engine can Solve 2 Major Website Owner's Problems
by: Jeff Davis

What is the solution to #1. Getting your site indexed in Google, and #2. Generating quality traffic to your website?

Answer: Use the awesome power of video.

When Google bought out YouTube for 1.67 Billion dollars, it was the shot heard round the world. Now I don't know if you realize it or not %70 of the USA has broad band access, and that is just the US, not to mention the rest of the world.

I have been researching this heavily, and burning alot of midnight oil, and what I found out, is that when Google bought YouTube, YouTube was forced to dump half of it's content, due to liscening issues. I was dumbfounded. They paid out 1.67 million for half the content. Why would they do this? Simple. They knew the speed at which it would automaticaly regenerate itself. The beautiful thing is, they don't have to lift a finger, the public will regenerate that content and more, now that it is a part of the mighty Google.

This is revolutionary, in the fact that video has morphed, or combined with social bookmarking sites, and YouTube and Google Video beta, get tremendous loads of traffic. The third site is Revver, which although not as famous as the other two, still is very poplular and recieves a large amount of traffic.

What does this mean for you, the aspiring marketer?

This means, that if YOU create your own infomercials, right now, and get them loaded to these high traffic sites, loaded with the right keywords in the title and description box, there is a good chance that you will be indexed very quickly.

Google is like a Content Dracula, they love quality, people generated content. Google Video, is a search engine that does nothing but search for videos, 24 hours a day.

This is a quantum leap forward for webprenuers that are just starting out.

Why? It solves two huge problems that we face everyday as business owners. #1. How do you get your site indexed in the major search engines? and #2. How do you drive targeted traffic to your website?

The great thing is, that you can create power point presentations, or screen capture videos, narrate them in your own voice, and viola! You've just made an infomercial, and you didn't even have to own a webcam.

This solves 2 other problems, Fear of video "freezeup" and lack of equipment, such as a video camera, or a Sony camera capable of mp4 video capture, or a webcam.

My favorite tool for this job is Camtasia. It has a feature that I just love, and that is when you use .swf as your medium, you can re-direct the viewer to your sales page, automaticaly. This is fantastic, because it empowers you to "steer" the viewer instantaneously to the sales page, while they are still in the "mindframe" to buy.

So, fellow marketers who are struggling to generate traffic, and get your site indexed, so you can make some money to support your family, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is give Google what they want, be sincere, be yourself, and simply recommend your site to the viewer.
